So we've decided we want to try this whole Overlanding thing. If you haven't heard of it, it's basically truck camping where you bring everything you need with you and go off-grid. The idea that you can take your off-road vehicle out where very few people go.

Adventure Truck with the rooftop tent open, before we got the camp set up. The campsite wasn't great, but this was more of an experimental trip to start getting bugs worked out.  And speaking of bugs... there must have been a beehive nearby because as soon as we started cooking they came out in force. Fortunately, we had just purchased this tennis racket shaped bug zapper, and after zapping a few bees, the rest of the hive left us alone.

Got the camp set up pretty quick. I think we probably brought too much stuff, but we'll get around to paring the equipment down after we've done a few trips.

Our big easy-up was nice because we could move it as the sun moved. I like the idea of the truck-mounted awning, but I'm not sure how versatile that would be. We've got the extra room on our bed racks to put the awning with the tent closed. We'll try this for a while.

Overall it was a nice easy trip to help us get an idea of what this Overlanding life is going to be like.
